Location and photo tracking in the field app
What the field app collects while you are on duty, who can see it, and what you can do. Read this before you accept.

1. When your location is collected
Only between the moment you tap Start day and the moment you tap End day. While it runs, the app shows a notification that cannot be missed. Outside that time the app does not collect your location.
The app asks for location only while you are using it. It does not ask for location in the background. If your phone closes the app, tracking stops and the app asks you to tap to resume.
2. What is collected
While your day is open the app records:
- your location points, with their accuracy, the time, and whether the phone says the location may be faked;
- your phone's battery level, and whether location, GPS or the internet were switched off during the day;
- photos you take of outlets during a visit, with the time and place they were taken;
- what you enter for each visit: the shop, products you showed, the outcome, notes and follow-up dates;
- the phone model, Android version and app version.
3. Who can see it
The administrators and managers of the business you work for, and only the ones that business has allowed to see field data. Other businesses cannot see it. The company that runs the service looks at it only to keep the service working or to help you or your employer with a problem you ask about.
4. How long it is kept
Your employer's plan sets how many days your route points and photos are kept. After that the route points and photos are deleted, and only the summary of each day and the record of each visit remain.
5. Your choices and rights
You can stop location collection at any time by tapping End day. Visits that need your location and a photo cannot be verified without it, so your employer may ask you to use the app on working days.
Your employer decides why and how your information is used and is responsible for having a lawful basis to track you. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask your employer for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to erase it. The company that runs the service acts on your employer's behalf and helps your employer answer such requests.
